Ashton Kutcher, who became an undisputed king of Twitter after famously beatingCNN to 1 million followers last month of April 2010, is getting tough competition from pop star Britney Spears.

The gap between Spears is slowly closing in on Kutcher their number of followers gets smaller every day. This posting, Kutcher had 4,890,797 followers, while Spears had 4,878,516.

Imdb.com reports that Kutcher had more followers than anyone else on the micro-blogging site, but it seems his days as Twitter's most popular user is in trouble.
